DESCRIPTION
- The use of hot stones dates back to antiquity. Hot stone massage is performed using volcanic basalt stones heated to a temperature between 40 and 70°C, in a bath of hot water at a constant temperature. Basalt pebbles are polished and smoothed to facilitate their sliding on the human body. They are composed of iron magnesium silicate, allowing heat retention. Hot stone massage is the most effective massage technique for deep relaxation. For a successful massage, the client should not feel the stones and should have the impression of being massaged by pleasantly warm hands.
